Mamie Bittner

I have more than 25 years experience as a senior leader responsible for agency communications and congressional relations. I advise executives to gain leadership presence, manage the complex and competing interests of multiple stakeholders, communicate effectively, lead strategic planning and organizational change initiatives, and manage disruption, complexity and uncertainty.

As a federal executive and on Capitol Hill, I led and developed talented teams. Together, we worked with Congress, the Administration, other federal agencies, foundations, and non-profits to support national and local cultural and educational institutions.

My strategic insights helped to secure federal and foundation funding to narrow the digital divide, develop inclusive programming in science, history and art, jumpstart innovative economic development, provide literacy and workforce support, connect people to health information, preserve iconic national landmarks and develop engaging learning opportunities for millions of learners.

I am a champion for leadership development and found that the best investments I made in my success were coaches that provided customized learning opportunities at important crossroads in my career.

My belief in the power of leadership coaching convinced me to become a full time life and leadership coach.

I am a certified professional coach and graduate of the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-being Program at George Mason University and have achieved PCC accreditation from the International Coach Federation. I have an MA in Education and Human Development from George Washington University. I am a Partnership for Public Service senior fellow. I serve on the Boards of the International Coaching Federation Metro DC Chapter and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.

I am convinced that well-being practices  make a difference in how I show up at work and at home.

Fun fact:  I've pedaled more than 20,000 miles back and forth to work.
